How do I install an i-doit license?
After purchase, you will receive a license token by email. This is needed to activate i-doit. There are two methods — depending on whether your i-doit server has internet access.
Online activation (with internet access)
- Open i-doit in the browser and log in
- A licensing popup appears — enter the license token from the email
- Click "Save & Check"
- i-doit contacts the license server and activates the license automatically
Firewall: If activation fails, check whether your server can reach crm-gateway.i-doit.com and lizenzen.i-doit.com.
Offline activation (without internet access)
If your i-doit server has no internet access:
- Log in to the customer portal (center.i-doit.com)
- Navigate to the "Advanced" tab
- Copy the offline license (entire text including
===== LICENSE BEGIN =====and===== LICENSE END =====) - Open the Admin Center in i-doit (link below the login form or
/admin/) - Open the "Licenses" tab
- Enter the token and click "Save" (not "Save & Check")
- Click "Install new license"
- Paste the entire offline license text and confirm with "Add license"
After activation
- Log out and log in again
- In the Admin Center under Tenants, check that the license is assigned to the correct tenant
- Automatic license distribution can also be configured there
Common issues
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| Message "Du bist offline" / "You are offline" | Online activation does not work — use offline activation (see above) |
| License not recognized | Clear browser cache and i-doit cache (Administration > System Tools > Cache), then try again |
| Token invalid | Check that the token was copied completely (no spaces, no line breaks) |
| "Given licenses could not be installed because string is malformed" | For the offline license, copy the entire text including the ===== LICENSE BEGIN ===== and ===== LICENSE END ===== lines |
| License visible in Admin Center but not active | In the Admin Center under Tenants, check if the license is assigned to the correct tenant |
| Server cannot reach license server | Check firewall: crm-gateway.i-doit.com and lizenzen.i-doit.com must be reachable. For proxy: configure in Admin Center under System Settings > Proxy
