Problem
I want to increase the limit of shown attributes in object lists. Currently, this is not possible, because i-doit is using a default setting, which prevents me from selecting more attributes.
Solution
By default, i-doit limits the number of selectable attributes/colums to ten. This is given by default deliberately. This shall ensure a reliable performance for the object lists when fulfilling the official system requirements.
To increase the limit of attributes, which can be selected for the object lists, the expert setting cmdb.limits.object-table-columns has to be adjusted/added.
The setting cmdb.limits.object-table-columns can be entered into the field key, if it is not existing, yet. The field value is used to define the new limit for the selection. For example: If users shall be able to select 15 attributes for the object list, 15 (only positive integer values are valid) has to be put into this field. The selection at the end of the line has to be set to Tenant-wide, otherwise this setting would have no effect.
Important:We recommend to change this setting only, if it is absolutely necessary and not avoidable, because the default was chosen deliberately. A possible decreased performance by too many selected attributes (columns) in object lists can only be reversed by reducing the number of shown columns to the original limit.
Furthermore, we highly recommend to create a backup before changing any expert setting, because some parts of this configuration have a serious effect on the application and may not be revertable in any other way!
