Creating and configuring custom categories
When standard categories are insufficient, custom categories with freely definable fields can be created.
Creating a category
- Navigate to Administration > Data Structure > Custom Categories
- Click "New"
- Enter a name
- Select type: Single-Value (one record per object) or Multi-Value/List (multiple entries per object)
- Constant is auto-generated (important for API and reports)
- Add fields via "Add field"
- Assign object types where the category should appear
Available field types

Tips
- Dialog+ values can be shared across categories via identical "Identifier"
- Custom icons available from v37 (max 1024 KB)
- Accessible in Reports and API via the constant
