Creating and configuring custom categories

When standard categories are insufficient, custom categories with freely definable fields can be created.

Creating a category

1. Navigate to Administration > Data Structure > Custom Categories
2. Click "New"
3. Enter a name
4. Select type: Single-Value (one record per object) or Multi-Value/List (multiple entries per object)
5. Constant is auto-generated (important for API and reports)
6. Add fields via "Add field"
7. Assign object types where the category should appear

Tips

• Dialog+ values can be shared across categories via identical "Identifier"
• Custom icons available from v37 (max 1024 KB)
• Accessible in Reports and API via the constant
