VIVA2 Add-on (IT-Grundschutz): Frequently asked questions

The VIVA2 add-on implements BSI IT-Grundschutz in i-doit — structural analysis, protection requirements assessment, modeling, and IT-Grundschutz check.

IT-Grundschutz Compendium

The compendium is included in the VIVA2 add-on and is automatically extracted during installation.

Installing/updating the compendium

After installing the VIVA2 add-on:

Navigate to Add-ons > IT-Grundschutz > Install/update compendium
Select the current compendium and install

Compendium not visible

If the menu item does not appear, the VIVA2 add-on needs to be updated or reinstalled. The compendium is not a separate download — it is contained in the VIVA2 add-on ZIP.

Difference: ISMS vs. VIVA2

Both add-ons can be used independently or together.

Grundschutz++ / Future

The topic of Grundschutz++ is being monitored by product management. Implementation will wait for official BSI data. A transition period exists, so an immediate switch is not required.
