How do I create a custom object type group?

Object type groups structure the main menu of i-doit. By default, there are groups such as Hardware, Software, Network, etc. Custom groups can be created as needed.

Creating a new object type group

1. Navigate to Administration > Data Structure > Edit Data Structure

1. Click the "New object type group" button next to the existing groups
2. Enter a name for the group
3. Assign the desired object types via drag & drop
4. Save

The new group will then appear in the i-doit main menu.

Tips

• Object types can be moved between groups
• Empty groups are not displayed in the menu
• The order of groups in the menu can also be adjusted via drag & drop
• The permission system can control which user groups are allowed to see specific object type groups
